Last year Google started voice call to US landline and mobile phone directly from Gmail and Now available these Voice call worldwide. However these call are not free but very low cost of these calls and rates of these are lower than Skype. This is head to head competition with Skype. So let's hope Skype also reduce their call rates.

To help reduce the cost of staying connected, Google lowering your calling rates to over 150 destinations around the world. For example, it’s now only $0.10 (or €0.08) per minute to call mobile phones in the U.K., France or Germany (landlines are $0.02/min), $0.15/minute to call mobile phones in Mexico and $0.02/min to call any phone number in China and India. The complete list is available HERE.

Socl.com is an internal design project from a team in Microsoft Research which was mistakenly published to the web.

We didn’t mean to, honest.

socl.com was earlier used by DHL courier service. I took a look at the wayback machine and found that this domain was earlier used by courier and freight companies during year 2005.

It is very hard to predict if socl.com is going to compete with Google+ since we are not sure what exactly is socl.com is meant for.

Is Microsoft really launching a social networking website?

No one other than Microsoft can answer this question.Wait for some time, may be we have more information about this Tulalip.
